“On December 12, 2010, doctors told me that I had a 1% chance of ever walking again. That I was hopeless. I, however, knew that I was not. Heroes are born from adversity. And I know that impossible is nothing. Never write someone off. Believe.

The reason I wake up smiling every day is because of the outpouring of love, support, and generosity that I have been blessed with from my family, friends, and God. They have given me the greatest gift anyone can give another person—they believe in me and in my full recovery. From their inspiring example, I have learned that you cannot live a perfect day without doing something for someone who will never be able to repay you.

That is why I have teamed up with four of my friends to support the Washington Jesuit Academy. WJA has had a dramatic impact on reversing the downward trend affecting inner city children by providing a high-quality, rigorous education for boys in grades 5-8 who come from low-income families. These are boys who at one time were told they had a 1% chance of succeeding. But with our support, there is a 100% chance they will succeed. #believe.”
